Undateable Empty Undateable

Post  Carly Thu Feb 28, 2008 10:14 pm

I started this out as a writing project. Unfortunately, though, I have yet to make it work. However, it might be interesting as a RP.

Summary: Fae, Kaety, Jolie, Celeste, and Mandy are four soon-to-be-junior girls who have decided it’s high time to get a boyfriend. However, once they get them, they change their minds. Warren, Fae’s boyfriend, doesn’t know anything about her, despite going out for four months. Chris has been double-timing both Jolie and Kaety. Mandy has just been used to keep the fans away from Randy. Celeste just feels boys aren’t worth the time. Together, they decide to get their revenge on the boys by making them updateable. Making a little booklet, they add to it.

Rules:

1. Never go out with any of The Four.
2. Never go out with any one with the same names as the four.
3. Play hard-to-get and go for quality.
4. Show those guys what they missed by playing fair and getting a good guy.
5. Spread the word and get girls to join the Sisterhood.

Revenge is sweet. You’ve probably heard the phrase several times, no matter if you were in K-4 (Pre-K to some people) or ninety-eight and in a wheelchair. I've never given much thought to it before. Actually, the only things the people I knew ever ponder were whether Coach was in or out (Totally in!), grades, whether Chris was interested in Kaety or Jolie, or other things of very little consequence. Why would I have ever needed to think of revenge? I mean, except for against Polly, who makes Paris Hilton look like a brunette, or Jayden, whose idea of fun is to throw me in a swimming pool while I'm wearing Prada. But sometimes, revenge is completely necessary, as I was to find out that summer. And it had started out as a pretty nice day too…

Gray skies were a thing of the past in Venice, Florida. A few wispy clouds were up in the sky and the sun beamed down on the umbrellas set up on the lake. Uncannily, there was no breeze, leaving everyone to head for the closest beach or ice cream store or lemonade stand to beat the heat. If a person were to look around anywhere in the street, heat waves could be seen, literally sweeping over anything and everything in its path.

In the middle of the sweltering heat, two girls sat at a five chaired table outside a Starbucks on Fifth Avenue, looking as leisurely as they come. Based on the designer clothes they were wearing, even a tourist could guess they were rather well off. But, if a person was an area native, they knew where they were from even without their uniforms on: St. Anne’s Academy.

“Ugh, I'm bored,” groaned the first girl, rolling her large blue eyes in annoyance. Her long brown hair was done in two French braids. Perfectly lip-glossed lips sipped at the iced frappuccino; then they wrinkled in distaste. “Ew,” she moaned.

“What’s so gross, Fae?” asked her companion. Violet hair fell in waves around her face. Her pale hand pushed the few tendrils that were in her face away from her chocolate eyes exasperatedly. “Is your frappuccino not up to par?”

“No, it’s just I can’t see how you can stand your tea,” replied Fae. “Honestly, Celeste, that stuff is so unnatural. It’s probably bad for you and poisoning you slowly! That bottle had better be recyclable.”

Celeste simply ignored her and continued drinking her Izze, knowing that if she responded, they would eventually get in an argument and then wouldn’t talk to each other for a very long time. Seeing as everyone else was on summer vacation, she would die from boredom. “So how are you and Warren getting along?” It wasn’t merely a change of subject. Fae had been literally obsessed with Warren for forever. Just last month, he had asked her to prom and of course, she just had to accept.

Her friend beamed. “Perfectly. Just yesterday, he gave me this ring!” She flashed it at Celeste. “It even has my birthstone on it. See?” The ruby flashed in her face.

“It is pretty,” she agreed, frowning slightly. “Isn’t that a garnet, though?” Celeste had gotten a job the year before working at a jewelry store, meaning she knew what stones she was looking at.

She shrugged. Just as she was opening her mouth, Mandy burst out of the café, her gray eyes full of anger. Clutching a sprite in her hand, she slumped into the chair next to Celeste. “Bugger all boys,” she muttered, grabbing at her short blonde hair in aggravation. Like the average California blonde, she was tanned with toned legs and dressed to impress- at least the soccer boys- in a soccer uniform. Of course, Amanda Poltrik wasn’t artificially tan- she had spent a lot of soccer practices out in the sun since spring.

Celeste and Fae blinked at her. “Aren’t you supposed to be in Tokyo?” asked Celeste, cocking her head. Mandy had informed them the week before school ended that she was going to be going to Tokyo, filming some kung fu movie. She was the perfect pick, they all agreed, seeing as she was so sporty.

“Yeah, but Randy was such a show-off and idiot I couldn’t stand working with him. I mean, he was nice before, but now he’s a completely different person. Then, I found out that the reason he’d been dating me was that I looked nice and kept away the scary, obsessive fans,” she complained, chugged the can of sprite and then squishing it in her hand until it was a flat circle.

It was at this point that another two girls entered the area, glaring daggers at each other. They looked completely identical, down to a hair follicle. Straight red hair fell down their backs and side swept bangs kept falling in their light brown eyes. At first they looked the same until a closer look showed one had a double piercing in their left ear with a ring in their cartilage while the other had the same in the right ear. They slouched into two other chairs.

“Kaety, Jolie, now why are you still here? I thought you were going on dates with your respective boyfriends,” asked Celeste, even more confused.

“Well, you see-,” started Kaety, her multiple piercing in her right ear.

“Chris was-,” continued Jolie, her left ear triple pierced.

“Going out with both of us at the same time,” they finished together. “And she didn’t tell me she was also going with him.” They pointed at each other.

“Maybe he thought he was only going out with one of you,” suggested Fae hopefully. Chris really didn’t seem to be that type of person to her. “Isn’t that a possibility?” The twins rarely fought, but when they did, it was short and serious.

They shook their heads. “He always called us by our correct names,” informed Kaety. “Therefore, he knew he was double-timing.”

“And he told us to keep it a secret,” added Jolie.

“So why are you mad at each other?” asked Celeste logically. “After all, it’s his fault.”

For a few minutes, the table was silent as they all thought it out. All of a sudden, the twins threw themselves at each other. “I’m sorry,” they whispered as they hugged.

“Although you are no longer mad at each other, I have something I’d like to say.” The violet-hair-dyed girl stood up. “Okay, we have tried this thing for the first time. We’ve known guys forever. And it’s not like we never heard stories like these circulating. But aren’t they always the same? They use us as shields, are unfaithful, don’t know anything about us, and more bad things. Why do we bother?” She started pacing. “Despite the fact we’re women, we have control over our own fate now. Why do we need to depend on guys for everything?”

Listening carefully, her friends started thinking about the questions she asked as Celeste gave them a few silent seconds. Jolie was the first to speak up. “So, what do you have in mind?”

“Well, for starters, we’ll swear off dating. Not worth the pain and heartbreak. Then, we get revenge on Chris, Warren, and Randy. My idea is we start this secret booklet for girls. It will have in it the boys that are undateable for whatever reasons."

"So," Kaety said slowly, "for Chris it will say he's undateable for-."

"Being unfaithful and doubletiming?" finished Jolie.

Celeste nodded her head firmly. "Exactly." She glanced at the contemplative face of Mandy, unsure Fae, and the excited ecstatic looks mirrored on the twins' faces. "So what do you think?"

Does this sound like a good story idea?

Kaety and Jolie: Chris dated both of them at the same time.
Fae: Her boyfriend doesn't care enough for her to know anything about her. (i.e. He thinks her birthday is in July when it is in January.
Celeste: just hates guys. Past bf thing that comes to light later.
Mandy: BF used her to keep away the stalking fangirls.
